Is circus circus a mistake?

Help - I%26#39;m going to circus circus with a convention of sorts. Was ambivalent about staying there but booked anyway. Now I%26#39;m panicking (especially after reading about potential bed bugs!) I%26#39;ll be alone there with my 10 year old twins. Is this hotel a dive?

I can get over the hotel not being the nicest place in L.V. but dirty is another story. I was hoping it was comparable to a moderate Disney hotel - have i inhaled too much pixie dust?

Does anyone have an unemotional straightforward assessment?

Yes. If possible, switch to Excalibur. Your kids will love it as much as Circus.

sheeena, you will find a lot of negative bias here. If you can get a tower room, things will be OK room wise. The casino is a not as nice as some on the strip, better than most downtown, but is bit worn and in need of repairs. As far as the children go, they will be tickled pink with it.

Stayed @ Circus Circus in March and it was not bad at all. The bias against this hotel is rediculous. Most that say its a bad place to stay also say they would not set foot in it. If they would not set foot in it, how do they know its a bad place then?

If you have kids its a great place to be. Thats probably the biggest reason people dont like Circus Circus is because this place caters to kids and families in a place that is supposed to be an ';adult playground';.

I went with a buddy and we had a nice room and it didnt stink like some claim. I enjoyed the Craps table employees a lot. They were very friendly. We stayed there and we didnt even have any kids with us.

Every Hotel can have bed bugs. Its the nature of the beast which is people from all walks of life staying in the same room. All it takes is one person to mention bed bugs and poof, its a runaway rumor. Especially with the beating that Circus Circus takes.

You get what you pay for at Circuc Circus. If you are budget minded its as good a place as any other budjet minded place.

How many times do you rate something when it is satisfactory verses when its bad? I know for a fact that more people post when there is a negative experience than when they are satisfied.

Its just common sense.

Are you serious? Well then how about checking out the reviews for the some of the top rated hotels in Las Vegas for comparison.

And don%26#39;t try to play the $$$$ card either, Orleans usually costs LESS than CC. Then get back to me with another excuse for Circus Circus.
