two 40ish dudes in Vegas, hotel with cool pool and central...

My buddy and eye are heading out to Vegas at the end of the month for the weekend. Who%26#39;s got a cool pool where we can enjoy the ';scenery'; and be centrally located. Would prefer the 4-5 star hotels.

Recommendations?

Mirage meets all your criteria, so does Mandalay Bay. However, Mirage has the superior location on the Strip.

IF you are interested in girls, go to HARD ROCK or PALMS.

Those girls like money .

What kind of ';scenery'; (wink-wink) are you talking about? Someone mentioned the palms and hard rock. I%26#39;ll throw Caesars Palace into the pile.

Say no more. Looking for a goer, eh?

I think you have a choice of two hotels in terms of a cool pool area with a mix crowd of late 20s to early 40s:

Mandalay Bay

Wynn Las Vegas

Both hotels have an adult%26#39;s only pool with sunbathing optional. Mandalay Bay is closer to the main drag of the strip, the Wynn is further out but the pool area is awesome with a wide range of ages.

I think they are looking for lots of %26#39;eye candy%26#39;, that is why I said Mirage or Mandalay Bay and not Wynn and Bellagio. Btw, I%26#39;m a Bellagio girl, would rather sit at a pool with peace and quiet rather than feel I%26#39;m being inspected from head to toe!

Ya, the pool at the Bellagio is great but I didn%26#39;t recommend it for those very reasons, but I think the Wynn has a nice mix. I really was expecting a debauchery of bad behavior at the adult pool there and it wasn%26#39;t like that at all. However, the Wynn may be too far from the strip, even though it wasn%26#39;t really. All the cab rides were under $10 for the most part, and it%26#39;s too hot to walk around anyway.

Ah, you and your dirty minds!

We%26#39;re thinking about pleasant views while poolside, no screaming and splashing kids, etc.. and if there are some nice women in bikinis... ok....

Don%26#39;t want to drop the top shelf cash, want the best that Acura money can buy, not Mercedes and Porsches....

You might want to check out Mandalay Bay for sure for an Acura price. LOL... too funny! While I don%26#39;t drive a Mercedes or a Porsche, we did go with the Wynn and it was worth every penny. There are many kids at Mandalay Bay but they do have the adult pool there. The Wynn has less kids all the way around but the ones I did see were well-behaved.

My buddy and I (in our 40s ourselves) had a great time at Bally%26#39;s last August. It doesn%26#39;t have a ';theme'; pool, but it%26#39;s definitely big enough and filled with an attractive crowd of people mostly 20s-50s. Nice scenery for the casual observer.

Two bonus features: 1) there were very few children, and 2) it%26#39;s one of the few pools in Vegas with a deep end (11-12 feet) that you can actually dive into.

Rooms were very nice, and location can%26#39;t be beat. It%26#39;s a great base for a ';guys'; weekend without breaking the bank.
