Are drinks free at bars if you're playing VP?

How does this work? I get the impression that people get free drinks while playing. I always just pay with cash and the bartender never offers the drinks for free.

All the casinos offer free drinks if you are playing. On those machines that are not at the bar you have to be served by the cocktail waitresses. Whether or not you are playing at the bar you still have to leave a tip.

We get good drink services when playing at the BJ tables or craps. In experience the service at the slots can be spotty or good depending on the casino. This past weekend we played VP @ the bars at both the Aladin %26amp; MGM and got our drinks comped while we played. They leave a comp receipt at the top of the machine. You of course tip your server.

qutentag: Don%26#39;t know if you like mixed, exotic drinks, but when I order a drink I always get a bottled beer...Seems to me that all the mixed drinks they serve are watered down...Can%26#39;t screw up a bottled BUD...Then, go to a place like Orleans or Gold Coast and buy a bottle of good whiskey for the room, at a good price compared to the rest of the strip....Seems to me that if you have to tip the bartender a couple bucks , the drink is not really ';free';...jj

now that%26#39;s good advice, jj. i bought a small bottle of Chivas (12 yr) at paris for over $25. compared to 3 shots at a bar, i rationalized that this was a bargain at the time.

qutentag: You are a much more cultered drinker than me...For a 1.75 liter of Seagrams 7 at Gold Coast, it cost me about 16 dollars....cheaper for others...the same bottle in Washington is about 26.95....Many people say they don%26#39;t care about how nice the room is, but I like a nice room where I can have a few drinks and watch sports, get a bunch of chips and snacks and then head out for the slots....Don%26#39;t know if you ever go down by slots-of-fun or Westward Ho, but they have good bottles of beer for a buck....Course, if you get a beer at any bar while playing VP, with a one dollar tip, same deal...JJ

At the Wynn, the bartenders will check to see that you are betting 5 coins at a time; if you are betting only one, you%26#39;ll pay for the drink.

I was @ MGM Friday 7/29 playing VP. It was our last stop of the night as far as I recall we only left a tip for our drinks or an unpaid bar tab.:(

At the Aladdin we had 4 drinks, plus some had shots.
