I have been to Vegas before and stayed at Strip Hotels and The Orleans. I loved the Orleans but I am travelling with 3 others for a ';girls'; weekend and they have never been to Vegas before. I know I wanted to stay on the Strip for my first visit. I have read the reviews for Ballys and they look good. I am not travelling until Feb 22nd but would like to book early. Any help most appreciated.

Bally's or The Orleans ???
I%26#39;ve stayed at both (Bally%26#39;s a couple of times) and while I am booked for the Orleans for later this month I would suggest you book Bally%26#39;s if there is no cost consideration betwen the two.
If your freinds have never been to LV before they should have the experience of staying on the strip IMO....
Ballys is nice...smaller casino, small shopping area on the bottom level....rooms are nice and quite large....
Bally's or The Orleans ???
This year is my first year off strip, am staying in the Orleans. Am meeting friends who are staying in NYNY, with the money I have saved (almost $100 a night over 4 nights) it will be easy to cab anywhere.
Id guess between the 4 of you the money saved on the room will allow you to do the same, plus have plenty to spare for the ale ( I know you Scot lassies can drink!)
Out of interest how did you find the Orleans, I have never been to it before, simply booked as close to NYNY and it gets good reviews on here. At the end of the day thou, your beds your bed and you move as to where the mood takes you.
Hi JCLFC,
If I was going myself I would always stay at the Orleans. The rooms are big and clean. The casino staff are really friendly and help a novice gambler like myself. I am only considering Balllys so my friends can experience the Strip but I am afraid to book a hotel I have never been at. Hence the opinion of you folk is crucial!!
Its hard being the organiser thats for sure. Just explain it to your mates that you have stayed in the one place before and found it good - making them aware its a litlle way out. Even if you stayed in Ballys I suppose you will be out to Bars/Clubs anyway so either way there is travel involved.
I stayed at the Imperial a few years ago and for location that couldnt be beat, not the flashiest but hey good enough. Was real cheap as well, meaning more ale money. I have had breakfast in Ballys once and it was good, casino a touch smaller than most but did the job.
First time visitors should stay on the strip.
I am a diehard Orleans fan and I concur the first time in Vegas should be spent on the strip. Monte Carlo would be my first choice for your group.
Have a good time and don%26#39;t shop too much.
If you are wondering if your friends will like Ballys, I say yes. It%26#39;s a fine hotel on the strip, plus the location is great.
Thanks for your comments. I have also considered the Monte Carlo but have heard mixed reports about it. I think I will stay on strip and Ballys looks like my best option.
Ta everyone!!!
