what is dry heat?

everyone talks about the dry heat? is there like no air at all?

it is pretty humid here tonight, dont much like that.

what is dry heat?

no humidity at all......when you get out of the shower the next time, instead of using your hairdryer on your hair....turn it on hot and high speed, and aim it at your face...thats Vegas in July and August :)

what is dry heat?

what about on a night time? is it still nasty to be out side?

yeah, when we were in vegas listening to the news report/ weather we heard ';humidity level at 5% today';. Living in wisconsin and having humidity levels of 40 and above we were quite shocked.

believe it or not we found it much more comfortable to be outside at night compared to the daytime.

Vegas dry heat (and southwestern desert heat in general) is a big upgrade weather-wise for anyone sick and tired of humid hot weather (as I am and apparently you are, too).

Just be careful with the sun exposure, that%26#39;s all.

Desert temps can drop as much as 30 degrees at night; it can be 110 in the daytime and 80 after dark When the sun goes down, the air cools off and it becomes very pleasant outside.

well, nights are cooler, but it%26#39;s all relative...if you%26#39;ve been out when it%26#39;s 110, 90 suddenly feels cooler? umm no not usually...its just that you can breathe easier.

I had the same question. I was in Vegas for the first time last week. Yes, there is much less humidity. The two suprises for me were 1) in Michigan when it is hot, a breeze is cool. In Vegas the breeze felt like someone opened the oven door. 2) the sun is very intense. I was only out in the sun for about 20 minutes and got quite a good tan.

With ';dry heat'; in Las Vegas, when you get out of the pool, you will actually dry off in a few minutes without having to wipe yourself off with a towel.

With high humidity areas, the body still feels moist when you get out of the pool and it takes longer to dry off.

in dry heat, evaporating sweat actually cools you. you will be chilly when you get out of the pool. the heat doesn%26#39;t linger after dark.

here in austin, it%26#39;s almost as hot in the middle of the night as it is in the middle of the day and you spend the whole day soaked in sweat because it doesn%26#39;t evaporate. when you get out of the pool, you just stay wet.
