Mandalay Bay and TheHotel

Are these two under the same ownership? Can we decide to pay for an upgrade after we get there? I made the reservation on the Mandalay website.

Mandalay Bay and TheHotel

I asked the same question about 5 months ago.

It turns out that not only are they totally different hotels but there is also THE FOUR SEASONS HOTEL which occupies a different section of Mandalay Bay.

Mandalay Bay and TheHotel

Darn I blew it. My husband is going to have a fit. Oh well the next time he can make the reservation. I hope that the rooms at Mandalay Bay are nice. Is any section better than another?

Which restaurant is the nicest?

Who did you make the reservation with? And which hotel did you want to stay at? Also, when is your trip? I am just curious how you ';blew it';.

We are leaving for Vegas on the 14th. I thought that they were under the same ownership and that we could upgrade if we wanted to do so.I made it for the Mandalay resort on their website. I did that because my husband is recovering from a broken leg and has difficulty walking. I think that we are going to rent a mobility scooter so it really won%26#39;t matter how far we are from the pool area.He is the one who prefers 5 star hotels.

We love the water and I understand that their pool etc is really nice.Oh well we will only be there for three nights.

The only reason I asked was because there is still time to call and switch the reservation. I called and talked with the staff at THEhotel and they were extremely nice. Actually I have always had a positive experience when calling casino reservation lines. You could call MB and cancel, and rebook at THEhotel if your husband really wants to stay there. You will be getting there the day we check out.

Not sure - I would think you could call THE Hotel and ask. The Four Seasons is also connected to Mandalay Bay, so that%26#39;s a thought too.

As for restaurants, Charlie Palmer%26#39;s Steakhouse is in the Four Seasons, and we were there last year and I thought it was excellent with 5-star service!

Good luck!

I never had a problem cancelling a reservation and rebooking (somtimes at the same hotel with a cheaper rate) as long as I booked with the hotel directly and cancelled within the cancellation period-usually 48-72 hours before check-in. Check the cancellation period and then just book wherever you want.

Good idea

I just checked and the rate is lower than it was when I booked. I am going to cancel it and rebook tomorrow either at the lower rate or at the Bellagio or The Hotel. I will ask my hubby what he wants to do.

Thanks for the restaurant suggestion. We are not big meat eaters so a steak house wouldn%26#39;t be our first choice.
