You would also need to consdier the temperature when walking.
Vegas in the summer is usually over 100 degrees during the day. I have walked to Ellis Island from Harrah%26#39;s in that kind of heat, but, I would think most would pass. If you were to take a cab, the $4.95 deal is not as good. Depend on the condition you are in and your heat tolerance. It is doable for some. It you are considering it at a different time of year, go for it.
About 5 minutes by car if you go the back way down Koval.
We walked there from TI but did it at night. Although we did walk by rough looking people, it was worth it as the Steak dinner was great!!! We wanted to take a cab back but they said the wait was over 30mins soo we just walked back. If you just keep walking and dont pay attention to the people just hanging out on the street you will be fine. I would not walk solo there at anytime but with 3 or 4 people it is fine.
