My girlfriend and I are headed to Vegas (for the 4th time) in less than a month. The anticipation is building so much that we went to a local river boat for a buffet and gambling to appease the excitement. Now I remember why I don%26#39;t step foot in most casinos outside of LV: sickness-inducing buffet, casino smokier than a 5 alarm fire, lost our bankroll in less than 30 minutes, and felt sleazy just for being there for an hour.
Is there any place that comes even remotely close to Vegas? Anywere outside the US? Reno? Caribbean? Atlantic City? Etc...?
Only Vegas?
i am always in atlantic city.....i love it there but its no vegas (according to my boyfriend and countless others) but it is a lil get a way, with a lot of casinos and the beach and boardwalk!!
Only Vegas?
Reno is great because it%26#39;s so close to skiing. With that being said, there isn%26#39;t another place on earth that resembles Las Vegas.
Vegas is one of a kind stl !
atlantic city is great,10 casinos on the boardwalk, with great beach bars at almost every casino,3 more casinos 10 minutes away at the marina. atlantic city is shaping up!!!
Laughlin is MUCH more fun than Las Vegas...
Trump still own parts of Atlantic City?
Does anywhere else provide odds better than Vegas? I know the riverboats (and the like) around STL have low limits but bad payback.
Stl---
I haven%26#39;t been to a mainland casino outside of LV in a long time....but for my money if you have to gamble and want to get away from the riverboat sleaze I suggest Aruba...
You can still lose your bankroll in 30 minutes but the food there is great and the beaches and ocean make the trip worthwhile even if you don%26#39;t bet a dime.
Now granted the casinos are smaller and they don%26#39;t have the show and spectacle of Vegas...(the evening light show might just be a spectacular sunset and the Southern Cross) but there%26#39;s lots of other stuff to do...
Only in name----his casinos are deep in dept and the investors are steaming mad.. Atlantic city is great in the summer with all the beach bars, ocean views.. bums on the boardwalk. Weekend rates get very expensive
We usually go to Tunica 1 or 2 times a year. It%26#39;s nothing like Las Vegas but it beats all the Casinos in the St Louis area and you can drive there.
24fan...I bet Aruba gambling is a good substitute for LV gambling. I would be willing to trade some mega pools and excitement for beaches and relaxation.
PMleich...How far is Manhattan from Atlantic City and is it easy to get to without a car? Should be in NY in December and may have time to head out there.
Cub1Fan...I%26#39;ve heard mixed reviews of Tunica, but it sounds like a big gambling location. BTW, I%26#39;ll be in your kneck of the woods next weekend for a classic Cubs/Cards series. Best of luck to your boys in blue.
