I see he is playing when we are in town. Is it worth the $50 to see him if you%26#39;ve never seen him before?
George Carlin show,
If you%26#39;re a Carlin loyalist, definitely! See him while you can!
If you%26#39;re just a casual fan %26amp; remember him being kinda funny on the Flip Wilson show, probably not. You *will* be offended by something %26amp; not everybody can handle that. (That%26#39;s why he got fired from the MGM Grand.)
George Carlin show,
I have never seen him but george carlin gets a lot of bad reviews, seems to give the I don%26#39;t care attitude, try george wallace at the flamingo he is hilarious
And to clarify . . .
I%26#39;ve seen Carlin %26amp; loved every minute of it.
But I can certainly see why others wouldn%26#39;t enjoy his show.
';I have never seen him but george carlin gets a lot of bad reviews, seems to give the I don%26#39;t care attitude';
And he has EARNED every one of the bad reviews. He%26#39;s a bitter old guy that hates his audience and pretty much everything else about Las Vegas, except of course, HIS PAYCHECK.
The last time that guy was funny was right around 1972.
No way in hell would I advise wasting $50 to put up with his tired, bitter, act.
I agree with Steve. I think his 15 min ended in the 70s.
How come nobody hears about him anymore. That should be a hint. But Vegas always attracts these over the hillers, I can%26#39;t figure it out.
50 bucks - no way !
';You *will* be offended by something %26amp; not everybody can handle that. (That%26#39;s why he got fired from the MGM Grand.)';
Yeah, most people probably would get offended when some guy they are paying to see calls them dumbasses, idiots, morons, losers and worse. See article below regarding his departure from MGM.
';Former comedian George Carlin ended his MGM Grand relationship in a blaze of gory the other night.
Holding back none of his nothing%26#39;s-sacred angst, Carlin finished his four-year run at the hotel Wednesday with some of his darkest material. Riffs included suicides and beheadings.
Near the end, he made it clear he couldn%26#39;t wait to get out of ';this (expletive) hotel'; and Las Vegas. He told the crowd of 700 he was looking forward to going back East ';where the real people are.';
He added, ';People who go to Las Vegas, you%26#39;ve got to question their (expletive) intellect to start with. Traveling hundreds and thousands of miles to essentially give your money to a large corporation is kind of (expletive) moronic. That%26#39;s what I%26#39;m always getting here is these kind of (expletive) people with very limited intellects.';
When a female in the audience hollered something that sounded like ';stop degrading us,'; Carlin fired back, ';Thank you very much, whatever that was. I hope it was positive; if not, well (expletive) me,'; using slang for oral sexx.';
Anybody that pays ANY money to see good ol%26#39; George just may be a moron, idiot, et al.
We just saw George Carlin in AC last month. We were comped and it was still a waste of time and money. He was bitter, ugly, focused on suicide and necrophilia, and unabashedly used cheat sheets for a good chunk of his routine. He was funny for perhaps 1/10 of the performance.
My husband had begged to see him for years. When we left, I didn%26#39;t even get a chance to open my mouth before he expressed his disappointment.
Not worth it. His opening act was terrific--but Carlin needs to go home and enjoy what%26#39;s left of his life.
Go rent his video at Blockbuster for $3 instead.
